Brachioplasty Procedure in Montreal

Brachiaplasty

What is a Brachioplasty?

A brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is a surgical procedure that aims to reshape and tighten loose skin in the arms. The objective of this procedure is to reshape the arms following drastic weight loss or aging, which lead to excess skin on the arms.

Who is the Ideal Candidate for a Brachioplasty?

Candidates who have experienced significant weight loss may encounter stubborn and undesired excess arm skin. Aging may also lead to excess arm skin that is resistant to diet and nonsurgical treatment.

You may be an ideal candidate for an arm lift if you have:

  • Excess skin laxity in the upper arms due to weight loss
  • Excess skin laxity due to the aging process
  • Lost the weight you desire, but still feel insecure due to excess flabby skin

What Does a Brachioplasty Procedure Consist of?

Based on Dr. Azzi’s recommendation, the brachioplasty procedure may also be combined with liposuction to optimize the results. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia.

There are several described techniques but a typical arm lift procedure begins with an inconspicuous incisions placed on the inside of the arm, in the armpits, or on the back of the arm. The placement and the length of the incisions depends on the amount and location of the excess skin.

Once the excess skin is removed, the excess skin is tightened and sculpted to achieve a smoother and firmer arm contour.

For patients who have excess fat in addition to excess skin, liposuction is often combined with an arm lift to improve the final contour.

What is the Cost of a Brachioplasty?

The cost of a brachioplasty generally depends on the treatment plan that is developed for you. Various other adjunctive procedures, such as liposuction, will have an impact on the final cost.
