What is a buttock lift?
A buttock lift, also called a butt lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that lifts, reshapes and contours the curves of the buttocks, to correct sagging and lost volume caused by weight loss or aging.
The objective of this procedure is to reverse the effects that aging has on the elasticity of your skin, or to remove excessive skin due to significant weight loss. It should not be confused with a Brazilian Butt Lift; The main objective of a Brazilian Butt Lift is to add volume to the buttocks with fat, whereas the main objective of a buttock lift is to remove excess skin and fat and to reshape the sagging buttocks.
Who is the ideal candidate for a butt lift?
You may be a good candidate for a buttock lift if you:
- Have significant sagging skin due to weight loss
- Want your buttock to appear more youthful
- Are unhappy with the shape of your buttock
What does a buttock lift procedure consist of?
There are various techniques for a buttock lift. The procedure usually involves an incision along the junction of your lower back and your buttock. The excess skin is removed through this incision and the buttock is reshaped and re-draped.
Augmentation of the buttocks is often performed at the same time using your existing fat (auto-augmentation) or other techniques.
A buttock lift is commonly performed at the same time as a body lift (circumferential tummy tuck).
The result will be a tighter, lifted appearance, with a more defined and youthful contour of the buttock.
How much does it cost?
The cost of a buttock lift procedure will depend on a number of factors, including the specific treatment plan that will be developed for you.
