Chin Implant for a Well-Balanced Face

Chin Enhancement

What is a chin implant?

Changes to the chin can have a significant impact on the overall aesthetic appearance of the face. Chin augmentations can be beneficial for both men and women.

The alignment of the chin is what is responsible for the overall harmony of the profile, and is a key component regarding the overall facial appearance.

Whether you are looking for a more masculine look to your face or a more feminine touch, the appearance of your chin may be a concern of yours. Alternatively, if your chin is too small, then you may be considering a chin implant or a chin augmentation.

Chin implant surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to improve the contours of the jawline, the neck, and the chin.

During the procedure, an implant is typically placed around the existing chin bone to enhance the shape and size of the chin, leading to a more natural aesthetic balance of the facial features.

Who is the ideal candidate for a chin implant?

A chin augmentation can help you with the size, shape and total appearance of your chin and neck. An ideal candidate for chin augmentation surgery is a person who is lacking chin projection but has good dental occlusion. By examining your chin in relation to several key landmarks, Dr. Azzi can help you determine if you would be a good candidate for chin augmentation with an implant.

What does a chin implant consist of?

A chin implant is a procedure completed on an outpatient basis, under general anesthesia. After the application of the anesthesia, the surgeon will make an incision in the natural creases of the chin or inside your lower lip (no visible scar).

An implant is then strategically placed on your chin. The position of the implant depends on the natural contours of the face and the desired outcome.

How much does a chin implant cost?

The cost of a chin implant surgery generally depends on the treatment plan that is developed for you. Other adjunctive procedures, such as a face lift, a neck lift or blepharoplasty, will have an impact on the final cost.

During the consultation, Dr. Alain Azzi will perform a physical exam, and will discuss your specific needs. A member from our patient care coordination department will subsequently provide you with the cost of a chin implant in Montreal.

We offer both in-person and virtual plastic surgery consultations.
