What is a Facial Fat Transfer?
A facial fat transfer, or a facial rejuvenation procedure, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that aims to reverse the effects aging.
This procedure is designed to revitalize one’s facial features by suctioning body fat, and re-injecting it in targeted areas, in order to achieve a more youthful look. The injected fat is used to restore volume in the desired areas (cheeks for example), similar to what is achieved with fillers.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for a Facial Fat Transfer?
You are an ideal candidate for a facial fat transfer if you have:
- Thin lips
- Undereye bags
- Folds appearing around the mouth (marionette lines)
- Creases appearing around the nose (nasolabial folds)
- Loss of cheek volume
What Does a Facial Fat Transfer Consist Of?
Facial fat transfer is a procedure done under sedation or general anesthesia. Typically, the procedure begins with liposuction. Fat can be taken from your love handles, hips or abdomen. Then, the fat is purified, and is ready to be injected into your desired area.
To inject the harvested fat, Dr. Alain Azzi will pass a small cannula into the area that is being volumized. Generally, more fat than necessary is injected in order to counteract the natural resorption of fat that occurs after a few weeks.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of facial rejuvenation, generally depends on the treatment plan that is developed for you. Concomitant procedures, such as a full body liposuction, mommy makeover, and other adjunctive procedures, will have an impact on the final cost.
During the consultation, Dr. Alain Azzi will perform a physical exam, and will discuss your specific needs. A member of our patient care coordination department will subsequently provide you with information regarding the cost of a facial fat transfer in Montreal.
We offer both in-person and virtual plastic surgery consultations.
