Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed on the nose, to permanently change its shape and size. This procedure reshapes the nasal skeleton, usually comprised of bone and cartilage.
A rhinoplasty is often considered a complex aesthetic surgical procedure and should be performed by a surgeon with appropriate training and dedication to aesthetic surgery.
Who is the ideal candidate for a nose job?
You may consider a nose job in Montreal, if you are bothered by your nose’s appearance or if you have breathing issues.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have dorsal bump on your nose (dorsal hump)
- Want to decrease the size of your nose (wide nose or projected tip)
- Have a large nasal tip (boxy or bulbous tip)
- Experience impaired breathing due to a deviated septum
- Want to restore the symmetry of your nose following an accident
- Have a drooping nasal tip
- Want to improve the natural symmetry of your nose
What does rhinoplasty consist of?
Rhinoplasty procedures can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your specific needs.
Typically, a rhinoplasty consists of making concealed incisions in or on the nose (open or closed approach). Then, depending on your unique facial structure and surgical goals, Dr. Azzi will shave, carve or reshape the bone and cartilage of your nose.
There are various approaches that are possible when sculpting a nose during a rhinoplasty. The best approach based on your particular requirements and objectives will be determined.
Following the cosmetic rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Azzi or a member of his team will put a small dressing on your nose which can usually be removed a week after the surgery.
